Meet the Artists of Fired & Fabricated
Virginia Walton
Curator, Fired & Fabricated
My lifelong love of fabric and the amazing ways it can be twisted, turned and pieced led me early on to wearable art, self copyrighting and printing three original garment patterns, and creating art quilts which traveled in yearlong exhibits to national shows, local and countywide exhibits and a runway show. I have never been a traditional quilter, but liked to learn the piecing techniques for transitioning them into garments. Life took over and I unfortunately had to put my skills aside for several years, but then discovered modern and improv quilting and found my happy place! I don’t think I will ever stop pushing myself to explore the possibilities that the wonder of fabric holds and the stories it can tell.
Kristin Beck
Kristin Beck is a writer, artist, and native Floridian, this setting provides colorful characters along with the intense humidity. Beck has exhibited in nearly 50 exhibitions and in 2024, she received an Artist Support grant from the Broward County Cultural Division.
