With tumbling triangles struggling to stay in formation and mischievous balls bouncing across the work, this
piece is whimsical exploration of breaking the rules…or perhaps bowing to them. A red square refuses to
remain boxed, or is it trying to stay inside? What about the circles that want to be squares, or are they squares trying to be circles? Improvisational shapes invite the viewer to decide what the story is here. What do you see?

About the Artist: Susan Skatoff’s work has been exhibited in regional and national quilt shows where she has received several awards. She is the President of the Palm Beach Modern Quilt Guild and Founder of the Hometown Heroes collaboration between the Palm Beach MQG and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
